The Maui Wheelers, the Maui Deaf Group and other stakeholders attended the Maui County Office On Aging/Aging and Disability Resource Center's Community Focus Group to give input on needs and services for the upcoming years. The event was well attended by our MW group who gave a spectrum of information regarding caregiving, transportation, education and other ideas for independent living.

We are a Peer Support Group for persons who use a wheelchair, scooter, walker, or other mobility devices, for 'ohana, friends, and caregivers...We Advocate, Educate and Create Space for Supporting one another with a Can Do 🤙🏽attitude 👍🏽We meet every third Thursday from 3:30 to 5:30 PM at 111 Hana Highway, Kelea Foundation.

Ever since my spinal cord injury in 1965 at the age of 20, my viewpoint has expanded from 60 years of full-time wheelchair use. Now 80, I spend a lot of time remembering, analyzing, and writing about how life with paralysis has changed over the years.
