EAA Chapter 1 We're the 1st local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association based at Flabob in Riverside, CA Duane Cole, of the Cole Bros.

Back in 1953, Paul Poberezny, who had founded the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) in his basement in a Milwaukee suburb, wanted to increase membership. Flying Circus, suggested that Paul write to Ray Stits at Flabob. Ray was already famous as the builder of the world’s smallest airplane. Ray replied that EAA sounded like a good idea, but it was a long drive from Riverside to Milwaukee, and so Ray suggested that the EAA bylaws be changed to permit formation of local chapters. He was confident, he assured Paul, that inside of ten years he could have as many as one hundred members in California alone. Early in 1954, the very first EAA chapter charter was issued to EAA Chapter 1, which is alive and well today at Flabob Airport (KRIR)

Another Great Young Eagles Day at EAA Chapter 1!

This past Saturday was another fantastic Young Eagles event at EAA Chapter 1, and this one was extra special!

We had the honor of celebrating TWO incredible milestones for our dedicated Young Eagles pilots:

🎉 100 Young Eagles Flights!
🎉 700 Young Eagles Flights!

These milestones represent so much more than numbers. They represent hundreds of kids who have been given the opportunity to climb into an airplane, experience the wonder of flight, and see a whole new world of possibilities through aviation.

We are incredibly grateful for our amazing pilots who continue to donate their time, aircraft, and passion to pour into the next generation. Your dedication makes a lasting difference in the lives of these young people and helps inspire future pilots, aviation professionals, and dreamers.

We love our pilots, and we appreciate everything you do for our Young Eagles!

Congratulations on these incredible milestones! Here’s to many more flights and many more young aviators discovering the magic of flight.
