Selfless Love Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization that leverages resources, expertise, and proven solutions to improve the child welfare system, creating opportunities for more foster youth to find their forever families and thrive in adulthood. We believe all children deserve a family, whether that is by being adopted or by being there as an extended family for youth that age out – we believe

family is everything. Collective Impact is a means by which people come together in a structured way to achieve social change. Selfless Love Foundation is the thought leader for adoptions and transitioning youth in the state of Florida in driving changes to policy, practice, and process to reduce barriers to foster care adoption. This is what allows the work we do to transform generations to come in a positive way. We are focused on impact. We work in three key areas to transform the lives of current and former foster youth though awareness and strategic partnerships: adoption, independent living, and advocacy.

Samantha, a youth living at Brown’s Harbor, reflects on the growth she’s experienced since moving into supportive housing. From reaching personal milestones to preparing for her next chapter, she shared her excitement about starting college to pursue early childhood education.📚 Her passion was inspired by a program she participated in supporting children with autism. She also opened up about the growth, confidence, and maturity she has discovered within herself along the way.

Stories like Samantha’s show what’s possible when youth are given the support they deserve to accomplish their goals.💫

🫂 As part of National Foster Care Month, our Advocacy Director, JR Minter, and youth from our Advocacy team traveled to Washington, D.C. to share Selfless Love’s Advocacy work with legislators.🏛️🚀

They attended the Congressional Caucus on Foster Youth’s National Foster Care Awareness Day event at the Rayburn House Office Building. When speaking with congressional staff, youth emphasized the importance of including youth with lived experience in decision-making, what their advocacy looks like, and learned about new advocacy efforts and internship opportunities to further their professional development.

Their voices and experiences continue to create change for children and youth impacted by foster care. 👏

🤩Our Adoption Superstars attended the Spring Statewide Training hosted by the Florida Department of Children and Families.🧑‍🧑‍🧒‍🧒 Child welfare professionals from across Florida came together to learn strategies to better support children and adoptive families. They gained valuable information and resources related to Medical Assistance, Adoption Subsidy, Guardianship programs, and more.

Our Adoption team also had the opportunity to connect with partners from across the state, strengthening relationships, sharing ideas, and expanding professional networks.🤝
