Located water-ward of the Suni Sands property sits a waterfront estuary marine habitat vital to marine life and the recently approved settlement agreement between the Town of Jupiter and the property developer puts this area at risk.

The submerged land is filled with Sea Grass, which is the food source and nursery ground for a variety of rare, endangered and threatened sea creatures. Turtles, Conch, Juvenile Sawfish, Manatees, Star Fish, and Sting Rays make their home in these waters.

Allowing development, including dredging of this sensitive area to accommodate large motorized boats and the construction of a hotel and other tourist attractions will disturb this important eco system.

We must continue to advocate to save ALL of 10 acre site to be preserved.

📢 Attention boaters — Dredging operations in the Jupiter Inlet are set to begin this Saturday, January 17 as part of the 2026 Inlet Sand Trap Dredging Project, contracted through the Jupiter Inlet District and Atlantic & Gulf Dredging.

This year’s project starts earlier than usual due to an unusually high volume of sand — nearly double the historical average, with shoaling already being reported by local mariners. Around-the-clock dredging will take place over the next month to help restore safe navigation through this vital waterway.

🌊 Out-of-town boaters, take note: local knowledge is key when navigating the Jupiter Inlet. Currents shift quickly, and unexpected shoaling can create hazardous conditions. Please proceed with caution, monitor official updates, and respect dredging zones for your safety and the protection of our sensitive marine environment.

Did you know that there are over 50 species of seagrass that exist around the world? Get to know several that are found in our area:

-Shoal grass 🌿 also known as Johnson’s seagrass. Most commonly found inside inlets
-Turtle grass 🌿 larger than all the other Florida seagrass with deep roots
-Widgeon grass 🌿 found in both salt and fresh water
-Manatee grass 🌿 primary food source for manatees with round cylindrical leaves

Next time you’re exploring our waterways, see if you can identify the type of seagrass you encounter!

A proposed 20+ story condo threatens to rise at the southeast corner of Blue Heron Blvd., directly adjacent to a beloved local dive site and vibrant marine habitat.

This type of large-scale coastal development is not just unsightly—it’s dangerous for our fragile ecosystems. Construction and boat traffic can harm sensitive species like rays, turtles, and seagrass meadows, while the loss of green space further disconnects our community from the natural beauty that makes this area so special. 🌊

We’ve seen it time and time again: short-term profit, long-term damage. The more we pave over paradise, the more we put wildlife—and our way of life—at risk.

📣 There’s a public meeting today, Thursday November 6 @ 5:30pm
📍 Riviera Beach Marina Event Center, 190 E. 13th St., Riviera Beach

Let’s show up, speak out, and let decision-makers know: we do not want more mega-developments destroying our coast.
