We had a great time sharing a booth with the Fond du Lac County Coalition at the Waupun Senior Expo today! It was fun speaking with many in the community and handing out some free shoe horns, which proved to a be a huge hit!

As part of the Dodge County Falls Prevention Coalition, we had a great time participating in today's Waupun Senior Expo along with our many partners, including Ellie Moore with YMCA of Dodge County, left, and our friends with the Fond du Lac County Coalition. MMC-BD Volunteer Manager Dan Moritz also spent time at our shared booth earlier in the morning.

It's already been a great week of raising awareness! Be sure to stop by the Watermark for Audrey's second free class of the day at 1:30!

Audrey Paar of Audrey's Yoga held the first of two free Yoga for Balance classes at the Beaver Dam Watermark this morning in recognition of National Falls Prevention Awareness Week! We appreciate all of the community partners who come together each year to raise awareness for this important cause.

We appreciate our partners with the Beaver Dam Fire Department kicking off National Falls Prevention Awareness Week by handing out Mugs for Rugs at Nunatak Coffee Roasters this morning. They also gave away some of our new Dodge County Falls Prevention Coalition branded shoe horns, which will also be available during Wednesday's free yoga sessions at the Watermark and Friday's Balance Screening event at the YMCA of Dodge County.

National Falls Prevention Awareness Week kicks off Monday with our Mugs for Rugs event with the Beaver Dam Fire Department at Nunatak Coffee Roasters from 8-10:30 a.m. Drop off your throw rugs, which are known tripping hazards, and receive a mug and free coffee!

And don't forget to check out our yoga events at the Watermark on Wednesday and balance screenings at the YMCA of Dodge County on Friday!

We're only a week away from National Falls Prevention Awareness Week and we have a series of fun and informative events lined up for you! Stop by Nunatak Coffee for our Mugs for Rugs event with the Beaver Dam Fire Department on Monday, or join Audrey for one of her YOGA for Balance classes at the Watermark on Wednesday.

We're capping off the week on Friday with Balance Screenings at the YMCA of Dodge County. Come check it out!

Register today for the next series of Stepping On Falls Prevention classes from July 16 to Aug. 27. The seven-week evidence-based program is proven to reduce falls by 31% and is focused on strength and balance exercises, identifying and modifying home hazards, vision reviews, and more.

Classes will be held for seven Thursdays from 1-3 p.m. at Marshfield Medical Center-Beaver Dam. The program is free, but an optional donation of $10 is suggested. To register, call the ADRC of Dodge County at 920-386-3580.

Take a step toward better balance, strength, and confidence with the upcoming Stepping On class! This research-based program runs on Tuesdays from May 5-June 16 from 1-3 p.m., and is proven to reduce falls by 31%.
