YRW is incredibly proud of these outstanding 2025 YRW Cohort members chosen to attend this summer's Students Of Stewardship - TSSRM! Join us next year at YRW to showcase your rangeland knowledge and get a shot at earning a spot at the 2028 Students Of Stewardship - TSSRM.

We are almost at the end of the "Dog Days of Summer." According to The Old Farmer’s Almanac, the Dog Days span July 3 to August 11 — 40 days following the summer solstice. These are traditionally the hottest weeks of the year, and this year is no exception! It's a good time for inside work in the afternoon, and going through more photos from the 2026 Students of Stewardship. This was a great group of students and I look forward to following their progress in year's to come!

It wouldn’t be the Youth Range Workshop without our traditional jump at Lover’s Leap! 🌿⛰️ We took a quick break from pressing plants to take in these massive Junction views (and catch a little air while we were at it). Dwight Yoakam said it best—we might be a thousand miles from nowhere, but there’s nowhere else we’d rather be! 🌾

Around 70 prescribed burn associations (PBAs) are active throughout Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Nebraska with 182 total across the US.

Neighbors help neighbors to conduct prescribed burns. PBA members are mainly landowners but also include non-profit, state agency and federal agency personnel. The associations often provide equipment such as safety gear, suppression vehicles and equipment, driptorches and other tools.

🔥 Putting good fire on the ground!🔥
A massive THANK YOU to the Upper Llanos Prescribed Burn Association for leading an absolutely outstanding prescribed burn for our delegates Wednesday morning!

We know how incredibly busy the spring season is for our local landowners and range professionals. We are so incredibly grateful that their members took time out of their own busy schedules to come out, share their expertise, and safely guide our students through this process.

There is truly no better way for our youth to learn about fire ecology, brush management, and the value of prescribed burning than by getting out in the pasture and seeing it done firsthand by the pros.
