Over the past few weeks, we’ve had to take a hard look at the Pet Pantry and be really honest with ourselves.
What started as something simple...just a way to give back and help our community...has grown into something much bigger than we ever expected. And while that’s a beautiful thing in many ways, it’s also become overwhelming in a way that just isn’t sustainable for us anymore.
We’ve been trying to keep up with messages, requests, scheduling, and everything in between… all while running our actual dog training business, taking care of our families, and managing our own animals. And the truth is, we’ve hit a point where something has to change if we want to keep this pantry open at all.
So we’re taking a step back this week.
The pantry will be 🚨closed for this week🚨 while we restructure and put systems in place that allow us to continue helping...without completely burning ourselves out.
Starting April 7th, things will look different.
Our new pantry hours will be:
Monday – Wednesday
10:00 AM to 3:00 PM
These will be the only hours the pantry is available.
We are also making a change when it comes to messaging.
The volume of messages we receive has become impossible to manage, and it’s a big part of what led us to this point.
Moving forward, we will no longer be responding to messages unless it is an emergency need such as leaving a domestic violence situation or a legit emergency situation.
You will still receive an automated response when you message us, and that message will contain the information you need, but there will not be a follow-up reply in most cases.
This isn’t because we don’t care.
It’s because we’re trying to protect our time, our energy, and our ability to keep this pantry running long-term.
We care deeply about this community. That’s why this exists in the first place.
But we also have to be realistic about what we can handle.
We appreciate those of you who have been patient, kind, and understanding as we navigate this. It truly means more than you know. ❤️
