My husband, Daniel, and I started this nonprofit in realization of our passion for sustainable living through small-scale and urban agriculture. We envision a community free from hunger and poverty, where the knowledge and skills lost through the generations are found and improved upon. We hope to share our passion for a simple life filled with homegrown and homemade food and products. We are excited to grow and continue offering more services. One of our current goals is to bring edible landscaping and food forests to schools, our public lands and unused lots, and offer workshops around the care and maintenance of these spaces. In the future we hope to offer a whole line of organic and homemade products, as well as classes on a range of topics from animal husbandry to making cheese as well as field trips and summer camps for the kids. We had our son in 2013 and he is our biggest inspiration for this organization. We desperately want him to be able to live in a world free from the devastating effects of climate change. We recognize that with droughts and other changing weather patterns across most of the food producing parts of our nation, we need to step up and take a look at our food system and make changes. We believe the best way to do this is in each of our own backyards.
