Junction City Juneteenth Community Association We want to pay tribute & respect to those who have paved the way though blood, sweat, tears, and tenacity. We celebrate the past and strive for a better future!

"To bring Junction City/Geary County, KS together to celebrate our common bond of freedom through the recognition, observance, education and historic preservation of Juneteenth in America." The Junction City Juneteenth Community Association strives to increase knowledge and appreciation of the roles, achievements and contributions of African Americans to our society on a local & national level. THE SPIRIT OF JUNETEENTH

"But, if this part of our history could be told in such a way that those chains of the past, those shackles that physically bound us together against our wills could, in the telling, become spiritual links that willingly bind us together now and into the future - then that painful Middle Passage could become, ironically, a positive connecting line to all of us whether living inside or outside the continent of Africa..."
