The purpose of the Central Aid Agency is to serve Christ, the community, and the common good, both locally and abroad; and to help save people, body and soul, in their time of need. Our mission;
Guided by faith, reason, wisdom, critical thinking, and principle;
Is to spread the word and love of Christ through positive actions;
Help those in need wherever they may be;
Work with other people, organizations, and groups for the greater good;
Further our understanding and protect the world we live in;
Serve our communities and make them better places;
And aid the cause of peace, justice, ethical governance, and doing the right thing;

Due to the ongoing United Security Operations fundraiser for UO Home Game security and the personnel requirements for that, we decided to combine the September and October Field Activities into one. The combined Field Activity took place on Saturday, October 3rd and consisted of the second part of our move out of the First Christian Church Annex building to our new temporary Headquarters location at Training Solutions International. The move is taking place because the church has decided they want to use the Annex building for other things, so we had to move out. Thankfully everything went pretty smoothly, and we were able to finish the job in one day (we also had the opportunity to checkout Locals donuts during our lunch break, yum!). It was definitely a bittersweet moment closing out operations at the church for the final time, we have been meeting regularly there since basically our founding almost 20 years ago.

At our September monthly Sector 2 meeting on 9/10 we began undertaking the move of the Sector 2 Headquarters from its current location behind the First Christian Church, to Training Solutions International in Junction City. We have been occupying the current location, the First Christian Church annex building, since February 2019. Unfortunately the church now wants to use the building for other purposes, so we have to move out. We are currently looking for a new and hopefully permanent location to house our HQ, but have so far not found anything that is both within our budget and meets our stringent security requirements. We are praying that the TSI location will be a temporary interim solution, as it is not ideal for supporting our operations long-term.

It's been 6 years since the Holiday Farm Fire burned through the McKenzie Valley, one of the largest wildfires in Oregon's history and part of the statewide "Labor Day Fires" outbreak that ended up killing 11 people and displacing hundreds more all over Oregon. Our agency was activated along with United Security Operations to help assist with and provide security for a donations center operated by Lane County Government and Lane County Community Organizations Active in Disaster - COAD member organizations.

For our July monthly Field Activity on 8/15 we partnered with TSI Adventure Team for an expedition to checkout Mount St. Helens in Washington State. Over the last several months C.A.A. personnel have been learning about disasters in the Pacific Northwest as part of their Personal, Faith, and Leadership Development (PFLD). It's one thing to watch a documentary or read about something, it's another to actually go see it! During the expedition personnel visited the Mount St. Helens Interpretive Center and hiked a nature trail there, visited Cold Water Lake where PFC. Cannon retrieved a b**r bottle that someone had carelessly thrown in the lake, and completed the day by hiking the Hummocks Trail for some incredible vistas. Though the mountain itself remained mostly shrouded by clouds, everyone had a great time this fun and educational trip.

At our August monthly Sector 2 meeting on 8/13 (which took place during the annual Junction City Scandinavian Festival), personnel organized some donated medical equipment to use for future training, then conducted a medical skills refresher. The training topics included a review of disaster medical operations, trauma first aid, head-to-toe patient assessments, and splinting.
