Kudos to all the volunteers that helped make JC Oktoberfest run this year.
I think this was the biggest and best thus far. We enjoyed seeing so many friends out on Washington Street on Friday and Saturday evenings, and we were blessed with such amazing weather!

I joined Andy Hooser on The Voice of Reason - Kansas Talk to talk about my race for Geary County Commission, District 1, and some current happenings in Geary County.

From Fort Riley and our talented military retirees to Milford Lake, the Flint Hills, amazing schools, and local businesses, Geary County has so much to offer. I want to put my experience and relationships across Kansas to work promoting those assets, attracting opportunity, protecting taxpayers, and bringing transparency and accountability to county government.

We also discussed nonprofit accountability and today’s Oktoberfest celebration in downtown Junction City—going strong until 10 tonight!

One of the things I’ve valued over the years is building relationships with people all across Kansas — and I believe those relationships can also be used to help promote our community.
This Saturday at 10 AM, I’ll be joining my longtime friend Andy Hooser on the radio. Andy and I have visited on-air many times over the years, and I’m looking forward to catching up again.
We’ll spend some time talking about Oktoberfest in Junction City, what is happening here in Geary County, and a few of the issues facing Kansas.
Opportunities like this give me a chance to help get the word out statewide about our community, our events, our local resources, and everything Junction City and Geary County have to offer.
I’ve spent years building relationships across Kansas, and I’m always happy when I can use those connections to put our community in front of a larger audience.

Rain hasn't stopped me getting signs out today, but this stuff is persistent. Stay aware and watch for local flooding in low areas.

9/30/26 It's definitely cause for extra awareness and attention today as we have the remnants of a hurricane crossing our area today... there is also a Tornado Risk.
A "Tornado Watch" or a Severe Thunderstorm Watch" will more than likely find you on your Everbridge notifications. Key parts of this statement from SPC include "Timing of a Tornado Watch is uncertain (possibly between 2-8pm), but one will likely be needed at some point within the next few hours." So they are leaning toward placing us in a Tornado Watch. AND... "A few of the stronger storms may produce brief tornadoes this afternoon". Interpretation from other weather forecasters "Small tornadoes that do not last very long".
So take the risk seriously, watch for weather updates.
However our take is to be prepared. STAY WEATHER AWARE. Have a plan. Think ahead of your travel arrangements. Communicate with family or loved ones of your plans.
WATCH OUT FOR FLOODING OF ROADWAYS ESPECIALLY AFTER DARK. Turn around, Don't Drown.

I spent over a decade of my life traveling the widwest working with volunteers and educating on the Constitution and the need to call a Convention of States.

This week, a volunteer from South Dakota reached out to me after checking into the KOA (Flagstop) campground in Milford. They saw my campaign signs and they wanted to meet with me.

I was able to hear what brought them into Milford (traveling through and wanted to see what we had), and talk state politics. She caught me up on South Dakota, and I was able to pick her brain on what would get them back to Milford and spend money in our surrounding community (shopping, dining, etc.)

We have amazing resources in Geary County and we need to do much more to promote them to the region. Can't wait to go to work!
