From being immersed in grassroots networks to working at international NGO's - we’ve learned how to build people-power, use narrative strategies to shift culture, and effectively use non-violent direct action to support communities and the climate. e and environmental justice movement and building grassroots power. By prioritizing organizing and direct action tactics — we can do more than just create policy change — we can help support communities to build a just and equitable society for themselves. We believe that social movements are like ecosystems — they are most successful and impactful when we build deep interconnectedness, resiliency, and resources are shared equitably. OGAN works to center the people most impacted by the fossil fuel industry, and build their leadership. Our work takes a people-powered, actions-led approach to social change that seeks to empower communities, directly address issues of equity, amplify the voices and leadership of the frontlines, and build a just world beyond the destruction of fossil fuels. We want healthy communities, green jobs, and room for everyone to make change.

Companies like Palantir are the billionaire class's next evolution of an extractive economy - using AI to further steal our land, air, water, personal information - and use it to further control people.

Palantir is continuing the legacy of resource theft and exploitation to enrich the billionaire class - enabling Big Oil to make obscene profits while continuing to pollute our climate and communities

and enabling Big Tech to steal our personal data and use it to further war and incarceration while the rest of us suffer rising costs and climate disaster.

Yesterday, Californians in San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area participated in day-long caravans calling for Hands Off Our Vote. Over a hundred Bay Area community members concluded their tour gathering in the front of Salesforce Tower in San Francisco for a ceremony led by faith practitioners.

Fellow Plum Village practitioners delivered a letter (accepted by an employee) appealing for Salesforce CEO tech billionaire, Mark Benioff, to take a stand against injustice and oppression to:

1. Sign the Business Democracy Pledge for fair & free elections, & to oppose any form of election interference.

2. End all Salesforce contracts with ICE immediately.

On Friday, August 14, join us at OpenAI's Bellevue office to show the AI company they are not welcome in our backyard.

As part of their Stargate project, OpenAI announced 8 new data center sites in Texas, New Mexico, Wisconsin, Michigan, Georgia and Ohio. Many of these sites are currently under construction, and communities have been gearing up to fight these projects on the ground. But in the Puget Sound, we have a crucial role to play.

When Trump announced OpenAI's Stargate project at the White House, he described the $500 billion project as "the largest AI infrastructure project in history". Stargate has 8 gigawatts of planned capacity, comparable to the electricity consumption of a small nation.

NEWSOM STEALS TRANSIT AND HOUSING $$$ AND GIVES IT TO BIG OIL

Newsom's state police threatened to arrest California residents yesterday for standing peacefully in a public area of the State Capitol. They were opposing cuts to cap-and-trade, the state's flagship climate program that taxes corporate polluters and funds programs that reduce climate pollution and make California affordable + breathable.

The Newsom administration kept making back room deals for big giveaways to big oil. The changes cut $2 Billion annually from affordable housing, public transit, clean air and water programs and puts that money right back in the pockets of Big Oil, while they're making historic profits!
