Murder Mystery Dinner Theater:

The Murder Mystery Dinner Theater is a renewed endeavor in 2017 for the Julian Triangle Club to raise money for our various contributions to the community. Melodrama:

Julian Triangle Club is celebrating its 75th year and the members are still ha

ving fun putting on Melodramas. Everyone in the club participates as either an actor or as one of the chorus group, fondly known as the “Floozies.” They keep the audiences in stitches between the acts with their humorous antics, costumes, and songs or they sell tickets or any number of other “behind-the-scenes” jobs. This event is the club’s main fundraiser. Proceeds provide: scholarships, saving bonds, special trips for students, community sports, drama, Scout programs, graduation receptions, and other philanthropic endeavors. Community Christmas:

The Julian Triangle Club presents the Community Christmas every year at Town Hall with visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus, carriage rides, and food/drinks. History:
Women’s Clubs were popular in Julian around the beginning of WWII when there was no TV or movies, and gas was rationed. The Julian Women’s Club had two branches, over 30 and under 30. Patsy McFarlaine didn’t want to leave her friends behind when she turned 30, so she and some other members decided to start a new club with no age restriction and an emphasis on having fun. They named it The Triangle Club. Bake sales, square dances, plays, and an outdoor pageant called “Johnny Appleseed Comes to Julian” helped raise money to care for needy families, as there was no welfare. Fifteen years later, Patsy McFarlaine said “Let’s put on a Melodrama” and the tradition began. We also bring Santa to the Town Hall in December, and participate in the annual Fourth of July Parade. The Triangle Club takes an active part year-round in the Julian Community.
