D-Day: A Legacy of Courage and Sacrifice
On June 6, 1944, Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in history, landing on the beaches of Normandy and beginning the liberation of Western Europe from N**i occupation.
D-Day was a defining moment in World War II, one made possible by the extraordinary courage, determination, and sacrifice of thousands of servicemembers from Allied nations. Many never returned home. Others carried the memories and burdens of that day for the rest of their lives.
Today, we pause to remember and honor all who served during the Normandy invasion and throughout World War II. Their bravery in the face of overwhelming odds helped secure freedom for future generations and changed the course of history.
As we reflect on their service, may we never forget the sacrifices they made and the enduring legacy they left behind.
