🌳 Jourdanton City Park is getting some attention.

The city recently received a $350,000 grant for improvements to the park, including upgrades to the playground, walking trail, lighting, parking and other amenities.

I stopped by today to take a look at the park as it stands now, and it got me wondering:

If you could improve one thing about Jourdanton City Park, what would it be?

More shade? Better playground equipment? Walking trails? Places to sit? Something else?

What would make you spend more time at the park?

I’m working on a story about the upcoming improvements and I’d love to hear what people who actually use the park think.

A New Voice from Atascosa

Today, Atascosa Voices shares the story of Mr. Byrd, the man behind a place where skateboards, bikes, kids, and community come together.

I sat down with him to hear his story, what inspired him to build the skatepark, and why creating a place for young people matters so much to him.
