What a fun project to be a part of!!! JEF was thrilled to support Mrs. Lyman's 2nd grade class as they worked together to improve their playground. From designing a survey, to collecting data....they even helped build the new equipment! Their dedication to civic engagement and making Joseph Charter a better place was inspirational. Awesome work kids!!!!! Have fun playing!

Ask almost anyone whose child has spent hours practicing the recorder at home what they think about Michelle Homan and you’ll hear things like, “Wonder Woman” and “patience of a saint”. We wholeheartedly agree! This Wonder Woman is the music teacher for grades K-12 and typically organizes several amazing school concerts each year. As if that isn’t enough (and trust us, it is!), this year she filled in as the Spanish I & II teacher and was the “on-campus” teacher for a group of students attending school online and is also a track coach. With band classes starting as early as 7 a.m. and track practice running into the evening hours, it is obvious that Mrs. Homan not only has a ton of energy, but she is also very committed to JCS students. Her favorite part of teaching is “seeing how much they grow musically throughout the school year”. For fun, we asked Mrs. Homan what she would choose to eat if she were stranded on a deserted island and could only have one food, and she chose Lucky Charms with milk. That seemed fitting since we feel so “lucky” to have her. Our hats go off to you, Mrs. Homan!
