Saturday was truly an incredible day!

The opening of The Nez Perce Story Continues was everything we hoped it would be and more! Our gallery was filled with beauty, warmth, and community and we are so grateful to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.

A very heartfelt thank you to our 16 talented Nez Perce artists whose art, including jewelry, beadwork, and handmade works filled the room with color, story, and cultural pride. Every piece is a testament to the living, evolving traditions of the Nez Perce people.

A special thank you to co-curator Jordan Shawl and Stacia Morfin of , Ann McCormack and our very own Kolle Kahle Riggs(co-curator) and Rich Wandschneider for your invaluable work in making this exhibition possible.

And we have to give a special shoutout to Lucius Webb — the youngest artist in the exhibit — who brought FIVE stunning pieces to the show. Four of his five works have already sold! 🌟 Let's help this young artist sell out!

Just a reminder: the exhibit runs through July 25th so if you have friends and/or family visiting during Chief Joseph Days or Tamkaliks, be sure to bring them by or send them our way! We hope to see you all soon!

🍩 Happy National Donut Day!

It doesn't seem like we'd have a lot to say about donuts at the Josephy Center but did you know that one of America's most beloved painters made donuts into fine art? Wayne Thiebaud's Three Donuts is proof that no subject is too ordinary for a masterful eye and skilled hands.

Thiebaud illuminates his pastries like they're center stage under a theatrical spotlight, painting them with dramatic light and shadow. We particularly like the unexpected pops of violet, orange, and aquamarine peeking through the glaze, and thick, luscious layers of paint so dimensional you can almost reach in and grab one.

Pretty neat, huh? And that's what great art does, it makes you see the everyday world differently. Even a donut.

Now go grab your favorite one and appreciate it like the fine art it is!🍩
