Tomorrow marks the start of weigh-in at the Wallowa County Fair, and we couldn’t be more excited. These students have dedicated months of early mornings, late nights, and countless hours caring for and preparing incredible market and breeding animals (and not all are pictured). For some, this will be the very first time they step into the show ring wearing the blue jacket. For others, it will be the last—a bittersweet milestone that marks the end of an unforgettable chapter.

Our fair may be small, but the heart behind it is anything but. The greatest part of our fair has always been our agricultural youth (although a food booth burger and a Sandy Miller cinnamon roll are pretty hard to beat). None of this happens without an amazing community. Thank you to the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, friends, fill-in family members, volunteers, businesses, buyers, and every person who encourages these kids along the way. Your support helps raise so much more than livestock—it helps raise hardworking, resilient, kind young people.

Fair week is filled with long days, tired feet, laughter, lessons, happy tears, and memories that will last a lifetime. Here’s to another unforgettable week. We can’t wait to cheer on every exhibitor.
