The girls from Troop 57839 were so inspired by the selfie stands at their local state park, and how they helped individuals, groups, and families document and share their outdoor experiences, that they set out to make a selfie stand for the picturesque downtown Hudson area. They enlisted help from a few different sources—a local graphic designer, Tricia Christensen with Christensen Creative, who helped them come up with the single post idea and slogan, “Picture Yourself in Hudson,” a local artist, Liz Malanaphy, who encouraged them to create individual elements with a cohesive plan, a local print company designer, Jenna Wogan, who produced the finished product, and a local builder, Matt Hutton, who helped them install the stand. After learning to navigate city board meetings and regulations—a great learning experience for the girls—the project was finished! The finished product is a fun and beautiful addition to the lakefront area in Hudson, WI and is surely a great source of pride for these girls. Way to go, Troop 57839! 👏
