A little learning, a lot of laughs, and maybe a few ghosts! 👻

Ashlea spent this week connecting with fellow Child Advocacy Center directors from across Missouri at the annual CAC Directors Retreat in Jefferson City!

It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and connect with others who understand both the challenges and rewards of the work we do every day.

A big thank you to the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse for bringing everyone together and creating opportunities for collaboration, learning, and a little fun along the way!

And speaking of fun… a ghost tour at the Missouri State Penitentiary definitely made for a memorable evening! 👻🔦

💙 Celebrating One Year of Leadership and 10 years total of service! 💙
From Forensic Interviewer to Executive Director, Ashlea Belcher has now dedicated more than a decade to the CAC movement and the mission of helping children find hope and healing.
Ashlea’s journey began at Children’s Center in June 2016, where she served children and families for more than eight years before joining the Missouri Network Against Child Abuse, Missouri’s state chapter for Children’s Advocacy Centers.
On October 14, 2025, her journey brought her back home to Children’s Center-this time as Executive Director.
Today, we’re celebrating one year of Ashlea’s leadership as Executive Director and more than a decade of dedication to the CAC mission. 💙
Happy anniversary, Ashlea! We’re so glad your journey brought you home.

The Children's Center will be closed on Monday October 12 in observance of Columbus Day.
While our offices will be closed, our commitment to children and families continues. Staff will remain on call for emergency referrals throughout the day.

Our Children's Center team had a wonderful time connecting with our community at the Joplin Health Fair!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn more about the services we provide and how we support children and families throughout our community. Every conversation helps raise awareness about child abuse prevention, healing, and the hope that is available to children who need it most.
We're grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a great community event and look forward to seeing you again next year! 💙
