Please North Heights folks, keep your dogs leashed on walks even if they’re friendly. It’s not just about your dog’s temperament, but others too. Not all dogs are OK with a strange dog running up to them and it can become a big problem very quickly, for dog and human alike. So many problems can be completely avoided just by leashing your dog.
Attention Joplin Dog Owners! 🐾
At Joplin Animal Control, we want to remind everyone about the importance of our city's leash law. Keeping your dog on a leash is not just a legal requirement—it's a crucial step in ensuring the safety and well-being of both your pet and our community.
Why Leash Laws Matter:
- Safety First: Leashes prevent dogs from running into traffic, getting lost, or encountering dangerous wildlife.
- Community Harmony: Not everyone is comfortable around dogs. Leashing your pet helps ensure that everyone can enjoy our public spaces.
- Responsible Pet Ownership: Leashing your dog shows that you care about their safety and the safety of others.
What You Need to Know:
- Leash Requirement: All dogs must be on a leash when in public areas, including parks and sidewalks.
- Fines and Penalties: Violating the leash law can result in fines. Let's avoid that by keeping our pets leashed.
- Off-Leash Areas: Check out designated the dog park in Parr Hill Park and other off-leash areas where your dog can run freely and safely.
Let's work together to keep Joplin a safe and enjoyable place for everyone. Thank you for being a responsible pet owner! 🐶❤️
