Founded and run by Misti Eby Lindquist, this non-profit donation center is for all people nationwide needing help that has been in a disaster. Joplin Tornado Relief or Hwy 43 Overflow, is located on highway 43 in Joplin, We are open by appointment only. Open for volunteers and for drop offs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. REQUIREMENTS: To receive items from the Mission, we have a sign-in requirement. This is for your saftey and ours, to assure everyone who needs it will get the assistance they need. Please be prepared to show proof of ID, and proof of address. This is to assure that those who are getting items are not fraudulent or taking advantage of our generous donors. ^__^
Forms of ID: If you have FEMA papers we will simply confirm the address, along with license ID for identification. We need the paper with the names of ALL affected in the tornado. If no papers or number are available, a photo ID (ex.: drivers license), with proof of destroyed or damaged address, and/or utility bill or other paperwork with affected address (can be obtained from utility co., rental company, etc.) We will also need proof of ID for all of those in the affected household, and those 16 and over will need to provide social security number. *Please note: we are a non-profit organization, and are required to maintain paperwork to show our activity to assure that no fraud is incurred on either our part or that of the disaster victim. In under three weeks, Misti's Mission grew from a few bags of clothes being laundered to the largest donations distribution center in Joplin. Four carports, three circus tents, three semi trucks, and an entire house are brimming full of items for tornado victims. Joplin has the needs, and we have the stuff.
