October’s Book Club selections are two more books from the *College Press NIV Commentary series*, translated into Russian. The two volumes ready to be printed in Moscow are 𝘓𝘶𝘬𝘦 and 1 𝘊𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘢𝘯𝘴.

You may remember that this spring, Book Club members gave towards two other commentaries in this series. Thank you! However, the work continues, and LATM partner K* is ready to print two more. He writes that there is only one complete commentary series in Russian, but it lacks sufficient depth. He is excited to print these commentaries, as he believes that they are the right balance of depth and practicality, while being strongly grounded in Scripture.

Our Book Club selection this month is 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙞𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙨, translated into Marathi, a language of India. John D., an Indian church leader, wrote this when requesting partnership with LATM:

With only two percent of India’s people knowing Christ, it is important for Christians to serve the Lord together. You may have noticed that this is the third month in a row with a Book Club selection from India (August was Khasi and July was Hindi). With 210 languages spoken in India, among its nearly one and a half billion people, the task of getting the Gospel to such a diverse group is massive. In February, LATM Book Club members generously gave to publish a vital children's ministry resource, *Adventures in the Bible*, for ministries serving children in Myanmar. This impactful Burmese language book is now printed and actively utilized in churches, Bible clubs, home groups, and within families, giving children a deeper understanding of God's Word and His love and plan for them.

As LATM visits with churches in various parts of the world, we have often seen that there is no material available to those seeking to teach and disciple children. We have been praying about this for more than a year and are excited that this year alone we’ve received requests to help publish materials for children’s ministries in Myanmar, Japan, Iraq, Eastern Europe, Kazakhstan, and now, northeastern India.

Gifts given to the Book Club this month will go toward printing Sunday School Curriculum in the Khasi language for preschoolers, early elementary, and late elementary children, as well as teacher guides for each level. A total of 4,500 copies will be printed. LATM’s partner in Meghalaya State, India, wrote, “We have been able to print some curriculum before, but only enough for our church. However, we have received many requests from other churches in the region who also have a great need for children’s materials and would like to use this too.”

Thank you, Book Club members, for your gifts this month so that many Khasi-speaking churches of Meghalaya State may have resources as they engage young children with the Word of God.

A reprint of 5,000 copies of 𝘼 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝙄𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙚 in Khmer was completed last month. We love seeing these books in the hands of Cambodian believers, as well as others who want to know more about the Bible! Thank you to the faithful LATM donors who continue to make it possible for our partners around the world to create Christian books in their languages so that their people find, follow, and serve Jesus.
