Yesterday, members of SWMO FOP Lodge #27 were proud to participate in the Joplin Community Pool Day at Schifferdecker Park, where we provided free Project IDKids child identification kits for local families.

Building strong community relationships is one of the most important parts of law enforcement. Events like this allow us to connect with families in a positive setting, answer questions, and work together to keep our children safe. Community trust is built one conversation at a time, and we are grateful for opportunities like this to engage with the people we serve.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth and to the organizers who made this great event possible. We had a wonderful time meeting so many families and helping provide an important safety resource for our community.

The Southwest Missouri Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #27 was honored to sponsor the Law Enforcement Flagpole at the Goodman Veteran and First Responder Park.

The Goodman Betterment Club did an outstanding job bringing this project to life. Their hard work and dedication have created a beautiful space that will serve as a lasting tribute to veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, and all first responders for generations to come.

We are proud to support a project that honors those who have dedicated their lives to serving others and protecting our communities.

SWMO FOP Lodge #27 was proud to help support Graham the therapy dog at the Children’s Center!

The Children’s Center is an incredible resource for law enforcement and social service agencies, providing specialized forensic interviews for children who may be victims of abuse or neglect. Their work makes a real difference in our communities every day.

Each year, the Southwest Missouri Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #27 proudly awards academic scholarships to outstanding students who demonstrate a commitment to furthering their education through hard work, dedication, and academic achievement.

This year, we were honored to present scholarships to five deserving students: Taya Stewart, Caleb Hall, Carlie Howard, Blake Sewell, and Kamryn Dininger.

Congratulations to each of you! Your drive to continue your education and pursue your goals is inspiring, and we are proud to play a small part in helping you along the way. We can’t wait to see where life takes you and all that you accomplish in the future.

Several of our members had the honor of attending the Newton County Peace Officer Memorial Service in Neosho this morning.

Honoring and remembering our fallen heroes is one of the core missions of the Fraternal Order of Police. We want to sincerely thank the Newton County and Neosho Chaplains for organizing such a meaningful and well-done service.

This special memorial caps off National Police Week, a time when we pause to remember, but may we honor our fallen brothers and sisters every day in our hearts and minds.

This week is National Fallen Officers Week, and our local law enforcement will have a service honoring them this Friday. This is a joint service with both the Neosho Police Department and the Newton County Sheriff's Office.

Also at this event, longtime chaplain Jerry Seigel will be honored, as he is retiring after 36 years of service to our local police. You might recognize him on KNEO as the host of the Highway to Heaven program on Saturdays. He has served under 6 sheriffs, and we wish him well with hearts full of gratitude for his dedication.
