Every family deserves a warm meal and peace of mind. The Minnie Hackney Community Service Center is partnering with Hackett Hot Wings to help feed local families in need, and we invite you to join us.

Whether you donate online, drop off non-perishable food items, or sponsor a meal box, your support makes a meaningful difference. With every $40 feeding a family of four, even a small gift goes a long way.

20 People Experiencing Homelessness in Joplin Are Ready to Go Home – They Need Your Help!

Right now, 20 individuals in Joplin are ready to reunite with their families and support systems—but they have no way to get there. HomeBound, a program by Higher Society, helps people experiencing homelessness return home, where they have a chance to rebuild their lives.

It costs just $250 to help one person get home.
With $5,000, we can reunite all 20 people with their loved ones!

We recently found out we didn’t receive the Community Change Grant we applied for, but we’re not giving up! 💪 Our long-term vision is to create a Community Resilience Hub—a space that fosters sustainability, education, and growth right here in our community.

For now, we’re taking it one step at a time, starting with the launch of our first-ever Earth Day event on April 20, 2025! 🌍 We’ll be planting trees, raising awareness about recycling, and encouraging everyone to take action for a greener future.

In the meantime, we’re keeping the momentum going with our Sunday Steps events, where we come together every Sunday to pick up trash and make a visible difference. 🗑️✨

We’ll also be sharing results from our recent Community Needs Assessment soon, and we’re excited to see how we can use your input to continue improving our community. Together, we’ll make a lasting impact! 💚

Today, we wrapped up a great meeting with our partners, finalizing plans for the Community Change Grant submission! Things are looking very promising! We’re thrilled to share this map, which shows how the Community CARES Hub will be right in the heart of Joplin's disadvantaged areas, bringing much-needed resources and support to our community. 🙌

The Hub will focus on community resilience, offering services like emergency shelter, recycling events, and sustainable living education—all designed to build a stronger, healthier, and more prepared community. 🏠♻️💙
