Greetings!
I have to let each of you know we will not be hosting Trek Tech Camp 2021.

There are funding issues, administrative issues and the lack of qualified volunteers to provide a safe quality camp experience for 2021.

These are related to the Covid 19 virus and at this point, can not be overcome without major changes for the campers, staff and administration of Trek Tech Camp.
Also, these changes require a major increase in expenses for the camp, too.

I’m sorry to have to announce this decision, but wanted to get this out to you before the summer is upon us.

On a brighter note, this will allow me the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends this summer. For 40+ years I have been involved in planning, funding raising and providing summer recreational opportunities for specially challenged young people. This is a full time commitment. I have not had a vacation in 15 years and feel I need to spend time with family and friends. In my current position, I work with a number of adults who are 70 to 105 years old. Each tells me to spend time with those you love as life goes by in blink.

Please give me a shout if you have any questions.

God Bless and Peace!

Cole has been one of our campers and is a very delightful and kind young man.

Graduating senior Cole Phillips lost his sight right before his freshman year. Rugenia Keefe was there to assist him in school. But, she says, Phillips was the one who got her through a dark time.

Okay, this is going to break my heart to announce:
Trek Tech Camp 2020 is CANCELED!

We have had many discussions, reviewed guidelines, considered funding and felt we could not conduct a quality summer camp for visually impaired youth. This is a sad moment for us as a staff!

When we began Trek Tech Camp in 2014 it was to give a high level dynamic camp experience for visually impaired youth attending. The staff and I plan each year with this goal in mind. No fluff camp experience is our goal! We challenge each of our campers to go above and beyond.. No one has left Trek Tech Camp without feeling confident, empowered, exhausted and rewarded. We as a staff leave exhausted and rewarded.

That's Trek Tech Camp! We will be back next year stronger and ready to give a positive rewarding camp. We will exhaust you, empower you and challenge you.

Know our staff and myself will miss each of you campers! Our hearts are broken, but still full of love and inspiration. We will miss our campers! We send our love and prayers to each of you!

NO FLUFF CAMP! THAT'S TREK TECH CAMP! Peace! Calvin
