Happy Birthday to our camp staff mascot Rusty who turned 10 years old today! He's taking a well deserved nap today, avoiding the cold and rainy autumn day. Ranger Dave says he's dreaming about Summer 2026 already.

A huge thank you from Ranger Dave to the Wunita Gokhos 39 Service Corps that came out today! A crew of 16 youth and adults helped install some additional split rail fence at the dining hall and cleaned up some tree damage from a recent windstorm. Lots of brush and trees cleared behind the dining hall as well. The chainsaws got a good workout today, and the dump truck was stuck in the mud briefly because of how much wood was loaded on it. Thanks for all your help and support!

Congratulations to the class of 2025! These Scouters completed their Basic Chainsaw Safety class held at Bashore Scout Reservation this weekend. They are now able to operate chainsaws at our camps. A special thanks to Matthew Stewart and Avery Ford for instructing with Dave Matterness. If you missed out on this opportunity, we will be holding another class in November 2026. Stay tuned!

This donation just arrived via UPS today. A staff alumni from the 1960's was recently visiting from Florida where he now lives. When he got back home, he sent us a box of patches and other memorabilia. Have you ever seen this particular neckerchief? It was even in its original wax paper envelope. It will be placed on display at camp for all to admire. If you have any information about this, or have other Scouting items that you would like to donate to camp, contact Ranger Dave Matterness .
