Youth Director announcement!

Welcome Amanda Cunningham to the JUMC staff as our new Youth Director! We are excited to have Amanda in this position and look forward to her leadership and her heart to serve as she leads our youth group in new opportunities to grow in love of God and neighbor.
Here is a note from Amanda:

"Hey JUMC! My name is Amanda Cunningham and I will be your new youth director. I graduated from ETSU with my degree in Elementary Education in 2023, as well as my M.Ed. Reading in 2025. I have had the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful church for my whole life, and I am so excited to finally be able to give back to the ministry. My personal experience in youth at JUMC helped me grow deeper in my faith, as well as build lifelong memories and friendships. I hope to instill the same love and light for Christ into the youth of this church, just as it was done for me."

Chicken teriyaki with broccoli.
Cream cheese stuffed peppers.
Homemade chocolate chip cookies.
Apple cobbler.
Cherry cobbler.
All cooked by our youth tonight.

Don't forget the church picnic Sunday at 5!
Then next week we'll meet on Wednesday at 5:30 for dinner and Bible study...and that badminton game if theres no rain!

REMINDER:
Now that we are back in school our Wednesday night youth group will meet from 5:30-7:00 with dinner at 5:30. This weeks dinner will be cooked by some youth volunteers!

We will talking about Resurrection 2027 Wednesday night! We will have spaghetti for dinner, a devotion with Pastor Michael, a d then plan out some fall events. See you at 6pm!

This Wednesday night Miss Wanda Hayes is making spaghetti for us for youth! We will meet at 6pm for dinner and then Pastor Michael will lead us to talk about the end of Romans chapter 8 and what can seperate us from Gods love (HINT: Nothing!)
We will also begin planning our next fundraiser in October of parking cars for Storytelling.

Youth group will meet Wednesday, July 22 from 6:00-7:30
We will have a taco bar dinner then a Bible study from Romans 8:18-25 with Pastor Michael. Then we will plan some events for the fall. Bring a friend and some ideas!

Upcoming Youth schedule:
For the summer we will be moving to Wednesday night only youth group, but we won't have youth on July 15.

Pastor Michael will lead youth over the summer to get to know everyone and then we will hopefully introduce a new youth leader for a big "Wonderful Wednesday" kick-off in September.

See you July 22 from 6:00-7:30 at the youth house!
