It’s hard to believe that a spontaneous “yes” to compete in my first prelim would become such a beautiful journey as Miss State of Franklin, and I have so many wonderful people to thank.
To the Miss Johnson City Board, you have perfectly embodied the Miss America motto of “empowering women to lead.” To Brandy, Robin, and Becky, thank you for believing in me, challenging me, and reminding me to stay true to who I am.
Eliza, my teen queen — you are in your element, and your future in this organization is so bright. It was a true blessing to get to begin this journey side by side.
My sweet Tristars, it has been lovely to watch you girls light up on stage.
Abigail, who would’ve thought a little encouragement backstage at a Greek life pageant would spark such a meaningful journey? I’m so grateful for my "partner in pageantry."
To my family,
Dad, from chauffeur to hype man, thank you for being my biggest fan. Mom — my rock, my sounding board, my ultimate “momager,” thank you for teaching me that I can chase every dream with courage and kindness.
And above all, I thank my Savior, Jesus Christ. Throughout this journey, a piece of scripture that has carried me is from Ephesians 3:20-21:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory.”
A year ago, I never would have imagined wearing this crown — much less placing in the top 12 at Miss Tennessee. Yet the Lord has taught me the power of confidence rooted not in competition, but in calling. I’ll forever be grateful for this year, and to Jacey, I’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.
