We appreciate Hytrol for sending us a "hole" lot of thanks this morning! They delivered a box of donuts to us at Jonesboro Unlimited and the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce for being a strong community leader and partner. It precedes their upcoming Loberg Day on July 1 that honors Hytrol's founder, Tom Loberg, through a celebration that emphasizes the company's core values of community service and employee appreciation.

More than a cycling event, The Skirmish Delta Gravel Festival, hosted by the Jonesboro Advertising & Promotion Commission, showcased our city and region to visitors from across the country this past weekend.

Over 300 riders from 15 states showed up for the second year of the event compared to 210 for the first. Participants received swag bags filled with items from local businesses, explored Jonesboro and the area through the race routes, and spent time downtown enjoying restaurants and shops.

Many of the event’s top prizes also highlighted some of the best amenities in our city, including a free night stay at Embassy Suites, concert tickets to First National Bank Arena, and flight vouchers for Southern Airways.

But the impact extended beyond the riders themselves. The festival featured local musicians, vendors, and activities that brought together residents and visitors from throughout the region, generating additional traffic for local businesses.

Events like The Skirmish help showcase Jonesboro as a welcoming destination while supporting our local economy and community. Jonesboro Unlimited was proud to once again be a sponsor and we are excited to see it continue to grow!

The James Best Industry Appreciation Golf Outing teed off yesterday at Ridgepointe Country Club with 15 teams representing 11 Jonesboro industries. Formerly known under a different name, the event was retitled this year to honor the legacy of manufacturing leader James Best who was an avid golfer himself and longtime partner of Jonesboro Unlimited. It was a great opportunity to celebrate the companies and individuals who help drive our region forward while enjoying a fun day on the course together. Thank you to everyone who participated, donated prizes, and supported the event, as well as to RidgePointe Country Club for being a great host!

Yesterday, Jonesboro Unlimited was awarded $3,010,000 by Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders along with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) through the Arkansas Site Development Program in a presentation at the State Capitol.

Jonesboro Unlimited will use these funds to begin extending wastewater lines to the 612-acre Craighead Technology Park South (CTP) to further develop it for future industrial growth. Previously, Jonesboro Unlimited was awarded $2 million in 2024 to support expanding a waterline extension and system enhancements to the same site. This will now extend City Water and Light’s (CWL) significant capacity in CTP South.

“We are thrilled to again receive funds from the Arkansas Site Development Program for improving the readiness of our 612-acre property in the Craighead Technology Park,” said Steven Lamm, JU Vice President of Economic Development. “With our waterline extension nearing completion, this award will increase wastewater access for future industrial users at this site. CTP South stands out from its peer locations as a prime opportunity in our multi-state region, and with the enhancements made through AEDC, CWL, and other partners, we will further increase its competitive attributes. Thanks to Governor Sanders, the Legislature, and AEDC for this program – these funds will have a powerful impact on economic development in communities across Arkansas, and we are thankful to have qualified.”

First announced in 2024, the program was developed by the AEDC with the support of Governor Sanders and the Arkansas General Assembly to help local communities compete and win economic development projects. To qualify, applicants must have an industrial site of at least 30 contiguous acres of land that is listed in the Arkansas Site Selection Database and that is owned or optioned by the applicant. Eligible applicants include cities and counties, chambers of commerce, and economic development organizations. This year, Jonesboro Unlimited was among 21 others for awards totaling $25 million.
