Today we honor Juneteenth, commemorating June 19, 1865, the day when the last enslaved African Americans were informed of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

Juneteenth is a day to reflect on our history, recognize the resilience of generations, and recommit to the promise of liberty and justice for all.

As we observe this important day, we encourage our community to learn about its significance, honor those who came before us, and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy today.
