The 4th of July is a truly fitting day for the home going of a man whose love of American History was such a huge part of who he was. Mr. Anders (Otha) entered his long awaited rest on the morning of the 250th birthday of our country. He couldn't have picked a better day if he got to choose it himself.
We will post a proper tribute to him on a later date.
At this time, we ask you to keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Jackie Neatherland Sims, WHS Class of 1975, departed this life on Thursday, June 25, 2026 leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, devotion and especially love.
Jackie shared all of her 12 years at Weston with a fair portion of her graduating class. She was fiercely loyal to those blessed to call her friend. Jackie was always the kind of person that you wanted to be around. She was funny and her laughter could draw you into any conversation.
Jackie was naturally popular and outgoing and was involved in 4-H and FHA during high school. She was on the girls' basketball team her junior and senior year.
We simply cannot discuss Jackie during her schooldays and not mention her dearest and oldest friend, Ethel Watts Smith. You absolutely never saw one without the other. They were inseparable then.
Following high school, Jackie met and married the love of her life, Ricky Wayne Sims. They made their home in West Monroe, but also had a place in Weston where they enjoyed spending their weekends. They were married for 45 years. They were blessed with twin daughters, Amber and Ashley, who were the light of their lives.
Jackie worked for and eventually retired from Frito Lay Corporation after many years of service. She dearly loved fishing, camping and working in her garden.
Those left to cherish Jackie's memory are her husband, Ricky Wayne; daughters, Amber Torres (Manuel), Ashley Doolittle (Jake) and grandson Dylan Torres; her
two brothers, Joey L Neatherland, WHS Class of 1977 and Jeff Neatherland, WHS Class of 1984 and their families along with many other relatives and very dear friends .
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy Fay and Dorothy Neatherland.
Please keep Jackie's family in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with great sorrow that we share with you the passing of Phyllis Ann (Dark) Smith on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Phyllis was a member of the WHS Class of 1982.
Phyllis was one of fifteen members of her class who attended Weston from first grade through twelfth grade. Phyllis was active in 4-H, FBLA and FHA throughout high school. She was very kind, sweet and very well liked by all who knew her during her years at Weston. She made lifelong friends there who sustained her throughout her lifetime.
Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Marshall Wayne Smith following high school. They built a life together along with their growing family of three boys. Phyllis showed courage strength and unwavering faith through many challenges throughout her life. She was much admired by so many.
Above all Phyllis loved her family and especially spending time with her precious grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Wayne Smith (WHS Class of 1979), her son Adam and her grandmother Ollie Mae Dark.
Left to cherish her memory were her children Chris Smith and his family, Nicholas Smith (WHS Class of 2012) and his family. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle Lenora and Ray Littlejohn as well numerous other relatives and dear friends especially her lifelong friend Jaynece.
Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.
