It is with great sorrow that we share with you the passing of Phyllis Ann (Dark) Smith on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Phyllis was a member of the WHS Class of 1982.
Phyllis was one of fifteen members of her class who attended Weston from first grade through twelfth grade. Phyllis was active in 4-H, FBLA and FHA throughout high school. She was very kind, sweet and very well liked by all who knew her during her years at Weston. She made lifelong friends there who sustained her throughout her lifetime.
Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Marshall Wayne Smith following high school. They built a life together along with their growing family of three boys. Phyllis showed courage strength and unwavering faith through many challenges throughout her life. She was much admired by so many.
Above all Phyllis loved her family and especially spending time with her precious grandchildren.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Wayne Smith (WHS Class of 1979), her son Adam and her grandmother Ollie Mae Dark.
Left to cherish her memory were her children Chris Smith and his family, Nicholas Smith (WHS Class of 2012) and his family. She is also survived by her aunt and uncle Lenora and Ray Littlejohn as well numerous other relatives and dear friends especially her lifelong friend Jaynece.
Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Emily Taylor:
University of Louisiana at Monroe’s Academic Excellence Award valued at $26,000; Jackson Parish Farm Bureau member scholarship valued at $500; I.J. Allen Memorial Scholarship which holds a value of $3,000.

Meredith Turner:
Outstanding Student Merit Scholarship- Louisiana Tech University valued at $10,000; Jackson Parish 4-H Foundation Scholarship valued at $500.

Nia Williams:
Louisiana State University - Music Scholarship Award. The value of this scholarship is $27,876; Stafford Palombo Scholarship. This scholarship is valued at $1500.
