Nevus Outreach Inc Nevus Outreach's goal is to bring awareness about nevi to the rest of the world and to let others know that they are not alone.

Nevus Outreach is dedicated to driving awareness, fostering a supportive community, and advancing research for people affected by congenital melanocytic nevi and related conditions. Nevus Outreach is dedicated to providing answers and support for families and individuals affected by Congenital Melanocytic Nevi (CMN) and related disorders such as Neurocutaneous Melanocytosis (NCM). The website, Nevus.org, is filled with information about CMN, including frequently asked questions, how to find support, nevus removal, treatment options and more.

Paint colorful rocks, get creative, and turn each one into a tiny invitation to learn more about CMN and NCM. 🪨

October is CommUNITY Month, and we're United Against Bullying. 💙🧡
Every person deserves to feel safe, included, and respected. Visible differences are never an invitation for cruelty, and kindness should never come with conditions.
Building a kinder community starts with the little things: choosing respectful words, standing up when someone is being hurt, including someone who feels left out, and teaching others to celebrate what makes each of us unique.

Thank you, Dr. Bauer. ❤️
At Light the Night Chicago, we had the extraordinary privilege of presenting Bruce S. Bauer, M.D., FACS, FAAP, with the Nevus Outreach Lifetime Achievement Award.
Beginning his career in Chicago in 1979, Dr. Bauer has spent nearly five decades advancing pediatric plastic surgery and caring for generations of patients, including individuals with congenital melanocytic nevi.
His legacy can be found in his contributions to medicine and surgical care.
But we see it somewhere else, too.
We see it in our families.
In the children he cared for who are now adults.
In parents who found expertise, guidance, and hope when they needed it most.
In the physicians he trained.
And in the future of nevus care that he helped shape.
Dr. Bauer, from all of us at Nevus Outreach and from the countless families whose lives you have touched:
Thank you for a lifetime of care.
Your legacy will continue to impact this community for generations to come.

Mental health matters. And so does belonging. ❤️

For individuals living with congenital melanocytic nevi (CMN) and other visible differences, the challenges aren't always the ones people can see.

Sometimes, it's the weight of an unwanted stare. An unkind comment. The exhaustion of explaining yourself. The pressure to be brave, confident, or strong, even on the days when you don't feel that way.

And sometimes, it's simply wanting to be seen for who you are, not what makes you look different.

On World Mental Health Day, we're reminding our community that emotional well-being deserves just as much attention as physical health.

You don't have to be positive every day.
You don't have to turn every difficult experience into a lesson.
And you don't have to navigate the hard moments alone.

This October, as we celebrate ComUNITY Month: United Against Bullying, we're standing together for a world where everyone feels safe, supported, and valued.

Because belonging isn't just about finding your people. It's about knowing you can be your whole self when you do.

Your mental health matters. Your feelings are valid. And you belong here. ❤️
