Written statement from Arkansas State University NAACP Executive Board,

“On behalf of the NAACP collegiate chapter here at Arkansas State University, we would like to acknowledge the series of events and derogatory remarks made by the student body on an app that allows students to share
information, comments, opinions, etc. while remaining anonymous. However, the app has been recently used to make racist, derogatory and downright disgusting comments about NPHC Greek Organizations and the black student body here at A-State.

We believe that A-state should be a place where all cultural, ethnic, and racial
differences should be celebrated and appreciated. As an organization that
was built on the values of change and the dismantling of racism, we understand that we are advocates for the people and are moving diligently to ensure that some form of action is taken in regards to this issue.”

Happy MLK Day from A-State NAACP!! Today we celebrate and observe the life of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A life that has succumb racial injustice. Dr. King’s lifelong legacy can be seen throughout history. Because of leaders like MLK, society has made the advances it has against racial discrimination and inequality!! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
