Another great job goes to our ICAC Division and JPD SWAT team!

On September 8th, The JPD Internet Crimes Against Children Division was sent a Cybertip from the ASP ICAC. The person who made the report advised they had met Cortez Borders on a dating app. Cortez then messaged her on Facebook and gave her his phone number. During their correspondence through texts, Cortez began sending sexually explicit videos and photos of juvenile females, asking for the recipient to delete them. He also asked the complainant to send him pictures of her little cousins. JPD detectives brought Cortez into the station and questioned him about the images and text messages. While under Miranda, he stated there were more images of child exploitation on his phone.

A bench warrant was issued for his arrest on September 20th, and he was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center. He appeared for his probable cause hearing and received a $150,000 cash surety bond. Photo: JPD, Copy: JPD
