We spent the day competing at the State Carpentry Career Development Event in Leesville today. They may not have won the day, but these four students have learned new ways to do things that they can use everyday for the rest of their lives.

Don't forget Sunday is Mother's Day. Trust us she wants you to come buy her some flowers. These kids have worked hard to get these flowers looking great for everyone. All of these baskets and pots were grown by students not outsourced from other nurseries. Come by and support these students that have put in so much time and effort, every dollar you spend helps fund these students in different events and projects throughout the year.

Today these 4 students competed in the Area 1 Carpentry Career Development Event.

They started with a pile of lumber and a 3 hour time limit to be able to cut out and construct a 4 foot by 4 foot deer stand. They also had to do a math practicum where they had to make a materials list and price out those materials. These are skills that can take these 4 far in life if they choose carpentry as a future career.

When all was done and the sawdust cleared, they placed 2nd overall and punched their ticket to the State Carpentry Event next week.

If anyone would like to purchase an award winning deer stand to hunt out of next year, it is available for sale. We also have several other stands that were built in class that are also available for purchase at the price of materials for each stand. Come by and check them out.

We still have plenty of baskets and bedding plants to help make your flower beds, porches, and patios look great for when you are entertaining company. Come see us this week open each morning from 8 until 11:45 and each afternoon from 1:00 until 2:45.

We have several wood shop projects for sale in front of the Ag building. All of these projects were built in class by the agriculture students. We need to sale this round of projects to fund the next set of projects that these students will be working on. These prices reflect the amount of money that we have invested in materials only for these projects. Thank you for your support of the agriculture students.

Reminder: the greenhouse is open each day during the week from 830am until 245 pm with the exception of 1145 to 1245 for lunch.

5 foot picnic tables $250

6 foot picnic tables $275

Folding benches $150 each you can buy 2 and turn them into a 6 foot table

Adirondack chairs $100

If you are in need of flowers to make your porch or yard look good be sure to come by and see us. We are open from 815 until 245 each day of the week with the exception of 1145 to 1245 each day. We will also be set up at the Sunshine Festival this weekend in Jonesboro if you can't make it out during the week. We also have a wholesale price for local landscapers and businesses that would like to carry our plants for the rest of the season.

The greenhouse will be open from 830 am until 230 pm this week Monday through Thursday. We will take a lunch break from 1145 until 1245 each day. Come out get some beautiful flowers and support your local agriculture students and program.

On Wednesday the Louisiana State Career Development Events were held in Baton Rouge at LSU. We are proud to announce that the hardwork and determination of these 4 young ladies has given them the honor of hanging a little blue felt in the ag building at Weston High School. After months of determination and work, they were able to bring home 4th place in the State Floriculture CDE. Congratulations to these 4 young ladies!

Just a reminder that the greenhouse is open today and tomorrow March 26 and 27th from 9am until 2pm.

We also have 4 5 foot picnic tables that are finished and ready for their new homes. They are $250 each they can be seen out in front of the ag building at Weston High School.

We may have been on spring break last week, but the greenhouse did not take a break. If this warm weather has you wanting to get outside and conquer your flower beds again, be sure to come see us at Lone Wolf Nursery here at Weston High School.

We have plenty of hanging baskets that are ready to make your porch look great again. We also have plenty of pots and 6 packs to refresh your flower beds.

New this year we have a limited supply of herbs for you to add to your garden or raised bed that are sure to be a hit.

12 inch hanging baskets - $20
10 inch hanging baskets - $15
Hanging baskets are filled with petunia, portulaca, cascading periwinkle, inch plants, or Swedish ivy.

Flats of 6 packs mix and match - $30/flat
Flats include dianthus, periwinkle, portulaca, and petunia.

10 inch pots - $10
6 inch pots - $5
4 inch pots - $3
Pots include coleus, marigold, Ge**er daisy, and dahlia

Herbs- $5
Herbs include sweet basil, lemon basil, lemongrass, flat parsley, curly parsley, marjoram, mint, chives, rosemary, lemon balm, and sage.

Thank you for supporting these students who have worked so hard to get these plants ready for you to enjoy. All money from the sales of these plants is used to give students more experiences through the shop, conventions, leadership events, and career development events.

We will be open March 23rd from 9 am until 2 pm. We will not be open March 24th or 25th as students will be competing at the State Career Development Events in Baton Rouge. We will be back open March 26th and 27th from 9 am to 2 pm. Thank you for your support of our program!
