A backpack can carry more than supplies. Mission Georgia invites churches to identify a need in their communities and rally people to make a difference.

Each backpack creates an opportunity to show compassion and build future connections with school administrators, counselors, teachers, parents and children.

Every child deserves safe, stable care, and foster families need communities that will walk beside them. Across Georgia, the need for foster care support continues, and churches can make a meaningful difference through prayer, encouragement and practical care.

Mission Georgia helps equip churches with resources and trauma-informed training to help them support families and care for vulnerable children with compassion and confidence. Together, we can ensure foster families across our state do not walk alone.

Your church can help a child take the next step in reading.

Read Georgia connects churches with local schools to provide elementary students with regular literacy practice and encouragement. By showing up consistently, volunteers help students strengthen their skills and experience the care of a trusted neighbor.

Could Read Georgia be part of how your church makes Georgia its mission?

This past Monday morning 50 Disaster Relief volunteers were deployed to Florida to help with hurricane relief after Hurricane Isaias hit last weekend.

Because of faithful giving through the Cooperative Program and donors who give directly to Georgia Baptist Disaster Relief, God continues to meet needs through the Disaster Relief ministry.

At 1025 Church, in Monroe, a day of hands-on fun opened the door to share the hope of the gospel. Church members served 12 kids through a toolbox-building activity, bagged lunches and a lesson about their identity in Christ.

This intentional outreach led one child to make a decision to follow Jesus. Praise God for the opportunity to meet practical needs, build relationships and share the gospel with neighbors.

Thank you, church, for making an impact in your community and living On Mission! ❤️

Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church in Rome is actively living On Mission, specifically in the deaf community!

Did you know the deaf community is one of the largest unreached groups in the world?

To help bridge that gap, their church hosted a brunch. Over 60 people from the deaf community attended, participating in fellowship, enjoying a meal, and leaving encouraged. A powerful testimony of someone coming to know Christ was also shared.

Thank you Church for being the hands and feet of Jesus!

Are you or someone you know in Hurricane Isaias’ path? Tap for steps to prepare and stay safe.

Pray for those in the storm’s path, check on your neighbors safely and share this post with someone who may need it.

Disaster Relief is on standby, ready to deploy if needed. We are grateful for their readiness to minister to those in the wake of the storm.

As the holidays are approaching, we’re rallying our churches, associations, and regions to be involved in collecting for and distributing backpacks throughout the year to show compassion throughout Georgia.

The Backpack Ministry is a simple way to connect with a local need, collect useful items, and put them directly into the hands of those who need them most.

If you’d like to know how to best pack a backpack for Christmas, you can click on this link and download the How-To guide: https://brnw.ch/21x6bko

This weekend Disaster Relief Training is being held at FBC Cu***ng!

This is an opportunity for first time attendees, recertification, and for anyone who would like to be cross-trained in multiple ministry areas.

Through this ministry we’ve trained over 300 responders and deployed 25+ teams in the last year. It’s a great way to reflect God’s mercy when we care for those in crisis.

We’re excited to see how God continues to use this ministry to care for those in need all across Georgia.
