Miracles for Mya

Miracles for Mya We are a non-profit 501c3 that helps families in Illinois affected by pediatric cancer. Mya was always passionate about giving back to others.

Miracles for Mya is in memory of Mya Tinajero who lost her more than 6-year battle with stage IV Neuroblastoma, in March of 2017. Mya touched the lives of so many during her short 10 years on this Earth; she was known for her smile, kindness, generosity, and bravery. Starting with her 6th birthday, she decided to forego birthday presents and instead asked her guests for new toys that she could donate to ‘her hospital’ where they could be given out to her fellow patients. Keeping with the spirit of our very special girl, we too want to give back. We, Mya’s parents, thought the best way to honor our precious little girl is to raise money through our foundation, that will help families in our community, who are affected by pediatric cancer. We’ve walked in those footsteps and understand the difficult journey, which has helped us empathize with the dozens of families that we’ve helped over the last several years.

We are looking for participants for our upcoming toy drive!

We have a limited amount of boxes still available, so take action now. 📦

Our 10th Annual Toy Drive runs from November 7th thru December 11th.

In 2025, we had over 40 Chicagoland businesses collect toys/gifts with us for the kids at Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn. Because of the generosity of the community, we were able to deliver over 3,000 premium items to the hospital in time for Christmas.

Define a hero. The word ‘hero,’ many of us will list the instances when a person has gone beyond their call of duty. But being a hero is more than that. It includes having qualities that inspire a person to be stronger, smarter, kinder, and considerate of other people in desperate situations. 🦸‍♀️

Help wanted.

We are seeking additional locations to host collection boxes for our upcoming 10th Annual Toy Drive. 📦

We're collecting toys from Nov 7th - Dec 11th. All toys/gifts are delivered to Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn for children spending their holidays at the hospital. 🏥

No business is too big or too small!

We have partnered with private offices, libraries, stores/shops, restaurants, schools, and salons. We welcome all, the more the merrier!

Don't work in a traditional office, but want to get your coworkers involved? Maybe you're not local. Launch a virtual toy drive! Using our Amazon Wishlist, you can share and encourage others to shop and ship directly to us.

We're happy to talk through options that might fit best.
