Miracles for Mya

Miracles for Mya We are a non-profit 501c3 that helps families in Illinois affected by pediatric cancer. Mya was always passionate about giving back to others.

Miracles for Mya is in memory of Mya Tinajero who lost her more than 6-year battle with stage IV Neuroblastoma, in March of 2017. Mya touched the lives of so many during her short 10 years on this Earth; she was known for her smile, kindness, generosity, and bravery. Starting with her 6th birthday, she decided to forego birthday presents and instead asked her guests for new toys that she could don

ate to ‘her hospital’ where they could be given out to her fellow patients. Keeping with the spirit of our very special girl, we too want to give back. We, Mya’s parents, thought the best way to honor our precious little girl is to raise money through our foundation, that will help families in our community, who are affected by pediatric cancer. We’ve walked in those footsteps and understand the difficult journey, which has helped us empathize with the dozens of families that we’ve helped over the last several years.

Today we had the privilege of meeting Mikaeel and his lovely family while attending his brother's baseball game. ⚾️

Mikaeel has been fighting Ph+ B-cell ALL Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at Lurie's Children's Hospital since 2024. In his free time, he loves playing sports and cheering on his brothers' sports, too. 💪

Your support and donations afforded us the ability to provide this local family with some much needed financial relief. 🤗

Audacity To Hope Day is celebrated every year on June 4. On this day, we celebrate the resilient human spirit that conquers all obstacles with hope and perseverance. Mya was the embodiment of resilience through her 6+ year battle with neuroblastoma. ☺️

Miracles for Mya honors Mya’s legacy, her battle, her hope, and her bravery. 💖

June is National PTSD Awareness Month

PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder) is a mental health condition triggered by experiencing or witnessing a terrifying or life-threatening event, such as cancer. 😌

Did you know both children and parents alike can experience PTSD when a child battles cancer? Very true. The never knowing what may come next. Waiting on test/scan results is torture. Any fever, bruise, or likewise, can be triggering. 🫣

Even after a surviving cancer, PTSD can last a lifetime. Be kind. You never know someone else's struggle. 🤗
