Our preschool friends wrapped up their apple unit with a delicious hands-on activity—making their very own apple pie! From learning about apples to creating something tasty, they had fun putting their new knowledge to work. What a sweet way to finish the unit! ❤️

Meet Wendy Reils, physical therapist and 26 year veteran of Easterseals Joliet. She feels honored to have spent her career with us helping children and families and witnessing incredible milestones, from learning to sit and walk to saying their first words. She especially values serving families in underserved areas where accessing therapy and other medical services can require long drives. Each day, she looks forward to seeing the progress of the children she works with and the smiles of their families. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking, watching old movies, and taking her dog, Choe, for walks.

To her, Easterseals Joliet means going the extra mile because everyone is important. One of her most memorable experiences was using the CPR training learned at work to save a life. She is also inspired by a family she worked with nearly 23 years ago who continues to praise and support Easterseals, reminding her of the lasting impact the organization can have on families. 💕

There’s always something new to discover in our Childcare Center! Our preschoolers had fun mixing colors and learning that yellow and blue make green. Hands-on activities like this make learning fun while helping little ones explore, experiment and build new skills along the way! 💚
