This is why we do what we do. 💜

We received this today, and it’s one of those reminders of why this work means so much to us. We love what we do, and we are incredibly grateful to be even a small part of someone’s recovery journey.

A huge thank you to Southwood Interventions and for always being there when we call. When one of our clients makes the decision that they are ready for detox and treatment, there is no time to waste. Southwood has helped us get people connected and moving toward treatment within minutes of making that decision.

In recovery, every second matters. That window of willingness can be small, and having partners who understand the urgency can truly change—and save—lives.

And then we get something like this. A handwritten note, a beautiful picture, and a reminder that someone we care about is safe, getting help, and continuing to move forward. ❤️

This is why we do what we do. And we wouldn’t trade it for anything.

We had such a great time out on the river yesterday for our RCCJ Recovery Outing! ☀️🌊🛶

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made the day so much fun — and we loved seeing so many of you bring your families along, too! 💙

Recovery is about so much more than just staying sober. It’s about getting back out there, making memories, reconnecting with the people we love, trying new things, and learning how to enjoy life again.

Days like this are a great reminder that recovery can be FUN! 🙌

Recovery is about more than giving something up—it’s also about discovering what brings you peace and joy.

Maybe fishing is a hobby you enjoyed before addiction took over, or maybe it’s something new you never knew you would love. Either way, Fishing Fridays are an opportunity to slow down, enjoy the outdoors, connect with others, and have a peaceful day on the water.

Join RCCJ on the first Friday of every month! We provide the fishing poles and bait. We’ll leave RCCJ at 10:00 AM and return by 1:00 PM at the latest.

No experience necessary—just come give it a try! 🎣

The Recovery Community Center of Joliet will be closed today, Friday, July 31, as our team will be volunteering at the 15th Annual PAASTOCK Sober Music Festival in Lake Villa.

🌊 RCCJ River Float Trip Update 🌊

After watching the weather closely and seeing mixed forecasts for thunderstorms throughout the day, along with the Extreme Heat Advisory, we made the difficult decision last night to postpone today’s River Float Trip.

The safety of everyone attending will always come first, and we appreciate everyone’s understanding.

The trip has been rescheduled for next week! 🎉 We will announce the new date and details as soon as everything is confirmed.

Reminder: This event is pre-registration only so we can reserve enough tubes and transportation. If you’d like to join us on the rescheduled date, please reach out to RCCJ as soon as possible to get your name on the list.
