Holly Club of Joliet

Holly Club of Joliet Founded to give aid to the ill and needy in the Joliet community. The needs of our community are presently greater than ever.

Over the past 128 years, Holly Club members have stepped forward to provide emergency food for families in dire straits, bandages for war wounded, hot lunches for Joliet school children, holiday gifts for families, psychological counseling for those who do not qualify for existing avenues of insurance and so much more. In many families, unemployment, foreclosure and bankruptcies are a continuing

source of anguish. Our charitable projects provide warm coats and mittens, nursing and college scholarship assistance is provided to students and holiday grocery gift cards to those in need.

Last Tuesday, the ladies of Holly Club hosted their last membership gathering where they awarded $90,000 in funds to local organizations. Holly Club has consistently donated to these organizations each year. We are so grateful for the community support this past year as Holly Club worked to raise funds one last time to help those in need in the community we all live and work in. I am confident that our founders are looking down upon us and are very pleased with how our members, past and present, have carried out their mission for the past 136 years.

We held our last and final Lawn Party yesterday, a truly unforgettable celebration that marked the end of an incredible 136-year journey. As we closed the doors on our beloved club, we shed a few tears but also shared a sense of pride and accomplishment. Moving forward, our members are eager to use our funding to leave a lasting legacy and give back to the community one last time, inspiring a brighter future for all.
