Later this week approximately (75) members of the Joliet American Legion Band will travel to Louisville, KY to perform in the concert band competition at the 107th National Convention of the American Legion.

Competition begins at 1:00 p.m. (EST) on Saturday (August 29th) at the Kentucky International Convention Center.
Note: The JALB will be the first band to perform.

As we continue to carry on the proud tradition started in 1946, our sincere thanks are offered to all those who have helped in various ways to get us to this point. For those who may be keeping track, a win in 2026 will bring home championship #40 to the "City of Champions". That would be a pretty nice 80th birthday present!!!!!

The Joliet American Legion Band returns to perform at South Wilmington's "Party in the Park" this Sunday afternoon (July 26). Join us at VFW Park at 3pm for this patriotic themed concert.

Many thanks to Gardner American Legion Post 663 for sponsoring the band for the third year in a row.

Looks like it may be a hot one - so think cool!

The Joliet American Legion Band has a rather unique gig lined up for tomorrow night. The band has been hired to perform at the private retirement party of a career Marine. 150 guests are expected to attend this backyard celebration, at which approximately 40 members of the band will perform the musical selections requested by the host (the retiree). It should be fun! Semper Fi!

Today the Joliet American Legion Band travels to Springfield, IL to perform at the Bank of Springfield (BOS) Center as part of the 107th annual convention of the American Legion Department of IL.

Afterward, the band will be guests at the Springfield American Legion Post 32 where they will be treated to a delicious chicken dinner. 🍗

Unless Mother Nature alters our plans, we still plan to celebrate our nation's heroes - the Veterans - TONIGHT at Bicentennial Park.

The evening's entertainment kicks off at 6:30 p.m. The JALB will take the stage closer to 7:30 p.m.

REMINDER: ALL veterans are encouraged to sign-in upon entering the park. A form for EACH branch of service will be available. Please CLEARLY print your name, rank at time of discharge, and years of service (ie: 1960-1965). And don't forget to throw your name in the hat for a chance to direct the band in "You're a Grand Old Flag" during tonight's concert. 🇺🇸🎼

Today's 6:30pm concert at Frankfort's Breidert Green is definitely a GO. And even if Mother Nature does decide to throw us a curve ball, a Plan "B" does exist. We'll play indoors at the nearby Founders Community Center (140 Oak Street) in Frankfort.
