A great loss for the AOH!
It is with great sadness that we learn of the passing of our brother Denis Troy. Denis was a Hibernian in the truest sense of the word and truly lived our motto of Friendship, Unity and Christian Charity
While always a son of the Bronx and a proud Jasper, Denis' heart was always in Orangetown and Pearl River where for three decades he gave his time, energy and talents. Whether serving in elected office, coaching youth sports, supporting parish life, or volunteering with organizations that cared for seniors, children, veterans, and people with disabilities, Denis focused on the everyday issues and made a change in real lives.
Within the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Denis was a leader who understood both responsibility and tradition. As President, Vice President, Treasurer, and long-time member of Division 3 and the Hibernian House, he helped build and sustain one of the strongest centers of Irish-American life. He believed the AOH mattered—not just as a social club, but as a living expression of faith, heritage, and service.
Most importantly, Denis was a devoted husband and proud father, and grandfather and a true friend who could be relied on.
His passing leaves a real absence, his example a challenge for all of us to carry on his legacy.
we will post details on arrangements as soon as they are known
