Birthright offers love, hope and support to each woman, child, and family, to help them envision a future that is possible and limitless. Birthright helps any person regardless of age, race, religion, marital status or financial situation, who is navigating the uncertainty of motherhood, parenthood, and pregnancy. Birthright of Johnstown has been proudly serving Cambria County, and surrounding are
as, for over three decades. We have had the privilege of giving back to our community by working directly with the families that live here to help provide physical resources, mentorship, guidance, friendship, and more. On average, we are able to reach over 400 families a year, providing over $35,000 annually in household items for infants and toddlers. We are funded by the help of those in our community through personal donations, annual appeals, carnations, basket parties, bequests, and most recently our newest event the Birthright of Johnstown Gala. We are currently a chapter of Birthright International, the first pregnancy support center in the world. Founded in 1971 and established in Toronto, Canada in 1968, Birthright International was founded to be the village for women who needed support as they embarked on the journey of motherhood. Since that time, over 450 chapters exist in the United States as well as in Africa, Australia, the British Isles, Hong Kong, Singapore and various places throughout the world.
