Women's Help Center, Inc. Established 35 years ago, the WHC is one of the pioneers of the domestic violence movement in Pennsylvania.

ldren throughout Cambria and Somerset Counties. The Counseling Center was established in 1979, the Emergency Shelter component was implemented in 1981 and a Satellite Office was opened in Somerset in 1985.

We had an amazing week!!!! Hosanna Industries and lots of fantastic volunteers dedicated their time and talents to help us get our Franklin Street duplex renovated and ready to go!

We are truly blessed to have everyone there helping us and "thank you" doesn't even begin to cover it. And the crew even made some extra time to help us move in furniture!

We just have some finishing touches to do.
Have a wonderful Easter and thanks to all of the amazing people who helped or even just thought of us during this project! We appreciate you tremendously!

If you're looking for something meaningful to do this Easter season, we have just the thing. The Women's Help Center has partnered again with Hosanna Industries to complete renovations on our duplex at 824 Franklin Street in Johnstown.

This is a wonderful volunteer effort to create additional emergency housing space for individuals and families in need.

If you have some time to give on March 30th, March 31st, or April 1st, please consider signing up to help.
Individuals and groups are welcome!

If you can swing a hammer, use a paint brush, or just lend a hand, we would love to have you join us!

Our staff and certified peer specialists at the shelter have been keeping everyone busy during all of the snow and cold weather. They have been working with individuals in the shelter on life skills, including cooking. They've been baking up a delicious storm and making blankets!! This is Laura. She is the reason we are able to do an amazing holiday gift program for our shelter residents and the families we have served. Every year, she manages to turn our boring conference room into a space packed wall to wall with gifts for everyone!
Even in this photo, you're only seeing a fraction of the gifts in the room.

She handles all of the stress, tons of questions, and loads of presents. We're all so happy to be her helpers!

She makes Christmas magical for so many and for all of us here at the Help Center! Laura rocks!!!

A huge Christmas "thank you" to Aly Bender-Murgas for her amazing support over the years. And this year is no exception!
