Benscreek Canoe Club The Benscreek Canoe and Kayak Club is a group of paddlers from The Alleghenies region of Pennsylvania (near Johnstown) established in 1970.

We all share a common interest in the outdoors and boating in particular. Our purpose is simply to promote the enjoyment, challenge, safety, and camaraderie of kayaking and canoeing. The club is also quite involved with issues such as stream access, whitewater, conservation dam releases, and the remediation of environmental threats. Well folks. This is it. The LAST weekend of releases for the Stony. The Valve was flawless all year. We had natural flow or a release EVERY scheduled weekend. 1st time in 16 years. Probably the last time. Welcome to climate change. If rain puts the Stony above 1100 cfs on Friday- we will update the release plans.

Just a heads up, there's a report of a strainer in the last rapid, jut above the Carpenter's Park Takeout far river right. The branch is wedged between the bank and an exposed rock and is nearly impossible to see until you are in it. We will work to remove this ASAP
