~Our current OYW’s are here to share some highlights of their experience so far!

-Our Cambria County OYW, Allie Mock explained “Through the Outstanding Young Woman program, I have learned how to carry myself with grace, confidence, and kindness in every situation. OYW has pushed me out of my comfort zone, helped me grow as a leader, and taught me the importance of believing in myself. My favorite memory from the program was meeting such an amazing and supportive group of girls who constantly encouraged me and made every moment unforgettable. The friendships and lessons I have gained through OYW will stay with me and continue to guide me in the future.”

-And our Somerset County OYW, Mirabella Tweardy shared “From my experience with the Outstanding Young Women program, I have developed confidence, independence, and motivation. These qualities have played a significant role in shaping who I am today. Through this program, I have grown tremendously as a woman and gained values that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. One of my favorite memories from OYW was meeting the incredible girls alongside me, and hearing their stories, learning from their experiences, and forming meaningful connections. As the program went on, those connections turned into lasting friendships, and many of them have become some of my closest friends. I will always be grateful for the opportunities OYW has given me and for the unforgettable experiences that have made such a lasting impact on my life.”

—>Today’s challenge is to tell us something you’re wild about? That can be a hobby, a person, a place, a future plan or goal, an activity or hobby, etc! 🌿✨
——>(this is another hint to this year’s theme which will be announced tomorrow🤫)

~Today we hear from Class of 2025 title winners, Chloe Weaver & Celeste Mizla!

-Chloe shared that “OYW has shaped my life in so many ways. Not only has it given me interview experience and scholarship for college, but it has also helped me grow in confidence, leadership, and communication. Through OYW, I learned how to carry myself with poise, speak with purpose, and step outside of my comfort zone. One of my favorite memories from OYW was forming such genuine friendships with the other participants and sharing the stage with such an inspiring group of girls. The support and encouragement we had for one another made the experience so special and unforgettable. (Special shout out to my partner in crime Celeste Mizla)

-Celeste said “Hey everyone! My name is Celeste Mizla, and I am Cambria County’s OYW from 2024! I'm currently studying electrical engineering at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, and it's been such a great year! It's hard to even express how special of an experience OYW was for me. The program itself helped so much with my confidence, especially with interviewing and public speaking. Those are SUCH important skills to learn, and being a part of OYW is a great way to gain experience with that. My interview skills are still helping me with opportunities now, and I'm excited to say that I will be starting an internship with an engineering company in about a week! However, I truly believe that the best parts of this program aren't just for personal growth, but for connecting with other young women and making memories. I made so many meaningful connections during OYW, and Chloe is still a close friend today. Especially when we hosted, we got to see how supportive last year's contestants were and how close they all were by the end of the program. This truly is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I encourage you all to just go for it and apply!”

—>Chloe’s challenges you today to share something you’re proud of or a goal you’re currently working toward!

~For day 4 we reached out to our class of 2024 winners Delilah Clarke + Alexa Lintz!

-Delilah shared: “OYW played such a big role in shaping who I am today. It truly helped me grow in my interview skills, public speaking, leadership, and time management. Those are all things I still use daily, especially in school and everything I’m involved in now. It also pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way and gave me so much confidence in myself. OYW gave me the opportunity to grow uncomfortably, but doing it alongside others. That growth has led me to seek so many opportunities for the future with the skills that I was able to learn during the program.
One of my favorite memories from OYW was getting ready before the show with the girls. The friendships, the energy, and just how supportive everyone was made it such a special experience that I’ll never forget.”

-And Alexa’s message: “As I end my sophomore year at Penn State, looking back, OYW still has a profound place in my heart. It has shaped me into the women I am today by teaching me to take chances, to live in the moment, and to always believe in myself. I would have to say my favorite memory was when we all decided to hold hands on stage before announcing awards. That is what this program is about. The greatest lifelong reward is the people you meet; the bonds you create. OYW wasn’t just a scholarship program, it gave me an irreplaceable sisterhood that I will cherish forever 🩷”

—> Delilah’s challenge for you today is to step outside of your comfort zone-whether that’s introducing yourself to someone new, speaking up, or trying something that scares you a little!
