Beef Sticks for Backpacks A non-profit organization committed to distributing high quality beef sticks to backpack programs.

Beef Sticks for Backpacks (formerly Beef Bank Colorado) sets out to put a high quality, high protein Bbefstick in all backpack programs in the state of Colorado. Backpack programs throughout the state bridge the gap between school days and the weekends for kids who are food insecure. Our beef sticks recipe and production takes place in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State Univers

ity. In conjunction with the University our friends and members of Colorado Livestock Association, Colorado Cattlemen's Association helped get this initiative off the ground. Other agricultural business and ancillary businesses that support Colorado agriculture have allowed the this project to begin scale. What started out as Colorado agriculture supporting Beef Sticks for Backpacks it has transcended into the entire Colorado community providing support. Beef Sticks for Backpacks was founded in 2019 with a simple but lofty belief that no child in Colorado should spend the weekend hungry.

What began as a commitment from the Colorado agriculture community has grown into a statewide program reaching over 20,000 kids every week across 30 programs.

To date, we have distributed more than 4 million beef sticks to food-insecure children across this state.

None of it would be possible without the donors, partners, and community members who share that belief.

KidsPak Board Members and Executive Director stopped by to present a plaque of appreciation to Department Head Patrick Doyle, Dr. Bob Delmore, and our team recognizing our partnership built through the Beef Sticks for Backpacks Program.

Through collaboration with Beef Sticks for Backpacks, Ram Country Meats produces the beef sticks that go into every KidsPak Weekend Food Bag. The KidsPak team shared with us that to date, more than 150,000 beef sticks have been distributed to students in the Thompson Valley community.
