With the help of volunteers and community members we seek to promote positive lifestyle changes in the youth of neglected areas – helping kids to stay healthy, active and out of trouble by revitalizing private land with re-purposed play materials. The long-range goal of the Replay initiative is to provide a diverse range of play opportunities throughout the city that are fun, physically challengin
g, creatively stimulating and socially engaging, and that serve children of all age groups, ability levels and interests. Unique within the United States, Replay is a non-profit organization that builds playgrounds for communities in need utilizing gently used playground equipment. By revitalizing private land with repurposed play materials, we seek to promote positive lifestyle changes in the youth of often neglected areas – helping keep kids healthy, active and out of trouble. How Does It Work? Members of our network of recreational equipment manufacturers alert us when a playground is being renovated with newer equipment. Our team then takes the previous equipment, refurbishes it and builds a new playground for a community that doesn’t have a youth recreational area. In effort to serve children of all ages, we typically create a toddler area, a middle-school area and a green field space where older kids can play organized team sports. All of our revenues originate from private donors, corporate sponsors, grants and local fundraising. Volunteers help with raising funds, creating the park, repainting playground equipment and general maintenance. Our Goal
