Did you know? Donkeys are more efficient at digesting food than other equines and so are able to absorb comparatively more calories. They are also less likely to be worked and more likely to be pets and have a more sedentary lifestyle. It's crucial to keep donkeys weight just in the right range to prevent the silent diseases: liver diseases and metabolic disorders...not to mention laminitis, arthritis and other joint problems. Stick to straw, hay and limited grazing for happy and healthy donkeys.
